All seven members of Korean pop band GOT7 will be leaving JYP Entertainment, reports say.
According to Dispatch, the 35th Golden Disc Awards will be GOT7’s last activity as a group. An industry source stated, “The GOT7 members are very close. They agreed on staying together, but they disagreed on the choice of their agency. After multiple discussions with the company, they decided to part ways.”
Dispatch explained that Jinyoung had completed his final discussions to sign with the actor agency BH Entertainment. Whereas, Yugyeom completed his final meetings with the higher-ups at AOMG. JYP Entertainment previously stated that they were discussing possibilities about GOT7’s contracts.
The dispatch states that Jackson will continue his global activities through his own label Team Wang, and he will carry out his activities in Korea through a separate agency. BamBam is also expected to balance his activities in Thailand and Korea. He will get the assistance of a content production agency in Korea. He is reportedly signing a contract with MakeUs Entertainment as well.
According to Dispatch, Mark will return to his hometown of Los Angeles, United States to spend time with his family, after which he will open a YouTube channel. He is considering working on solo music in the United States.
Youngjae was reportedly scouted by Sublime Artist Agency. JB has reportedly got offers from famous hip hop label. He is planning to appear as a solo artist.
A source close to GOT7 told the international news source, The members care a lot about GOT7. Though they will each promote separately, they agreed to make time when GOT7 reunites.”
A source from JYP Entertainment responded, “We can not confirm which [agencies] each member is in contact with. We will inform you once our position regarding GOT7’s contract renewal is ready.”
