Google Employs Machine Learning to Avoid Repeating Ads:
Ads, no matter how annoying, are one of the main sources of revenue through the internet. In the past, consumers have grown tired by all the advertising and as a workaround to prevent ads from popping up now and then, have installed anti-tracking or ad-blocking software on their devices. This has cost every agency or company that relies on ads for their revenue. Advertisers pay the company either on a ‘Cost per click’ basis which means every time an ad is clicked, the company gets a certain amount or by ‘cost per mille’ basis which means the company gets a certain amount every time an ad reaches 1000 views. In both conditions, repeat ads can have a negative impact since showing the same ad to the same user again and again will not add to the revenue.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS:
Dyson has scrapped its electric car project:
Dyson, the technology company best known for its vacuum cleaners, has scrapped a project to build electric cars. The firm, headed by British inventor Sir James Dyson, said its engineers had developed a “fantastic electric car” but that it would not hit the roads because it was not “commercially viable”. In an email sent to all employees, Sir James said the company had unsuccessfully tried to find a buyer for the project.
The division employs 500 UK workers. Dyson had planned to invest more than £2bn in developing a “radical and different” electric vehicle, a project it launched in 2016. It said the car would not be aimed at the mass market. Half of the funds would go towards building the car, half towards developing electric batteries.

Blizzard gamers complain they cannot boycott firm over China:
Gamers are complaining they are unable to delete their Activision Blizzard accounts, as they attempt to show solidarity with an e-sports competitor. The US publisher caused controversy by placing a 12-month ban on a player who had voiced support for pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong on Sunday.
Users say they get error messages when they try to erase their accounts. Some suggest it could be deliberate. But the firm has indicated a technical problem is to blame.”There’s an issue affecting the site which our engineers are currently addressing… it’s a priority for us to have this resolved,” one of its North America accounts tweeted.

Liverpudlians spend six minutes and 51 seconds on a single call, on average. That’s more than 40% longer than Londoners, who came second in the survey results. People in Bradford had the shortest conversations on average, at three minutes and 15 seconds. The research also found that people who used their phones for online services mostly stuck to wi-fi. Mobile data services such as 3G and 4G were used for less than a third of such activity.
