The ardent batchmates of Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) of universities successfully hold a debut Hackfest 22 event in Karachi, this month, to help give solutions on the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals under the pressing global warming challenges facing the world.
Hackfest 22, an event comprising of three days (March 18 to 20) organized by Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) with esteem support from number of sponsors, especially by the IBA. The leading ten universities of the city including UOK, IBA, SSUET, SMIU, NED, FAST, UIT, DHA Suffa, SHU and Paf-KIET took part.
The event onsite hackathon at IBA City Campus brought creators, innovators and developers together to develop solutions for UN 17 SDGs. Nabeel Ahmed-GDSC Lead of IBA being the President; Eman Ahmed-GDSC Lead of Salim Habib University being the Vice President; Danella Patrick-GDSC Lead of SMIU being the Operations Lead; Rohail Naveed-GDSC Lead of Sir Syed University of Technology being the Operations Lead along Abdul Rehman Abbasi Operations Lead from GDSC-IBA, Hassam-GDSC Lead of DHA Suffa University; Samima Khan-GDSC-IBA being the Graphics Leads of Hackfest 22 made an amazing effort to make the event successful.
Due to this organising committee’s extraordinary efforts, they were able to pull-off this first-ever GDSC Hackfest with over 150 participants and 35+ teams comprising of students from 10 universities learnt a lifetime experience at Hackfest 22.
The best part was having one-on-one mentorship with the experts of the related industry. Muhammad Ali Khan from Abhi, Krinza Momin xAfiniti, Arbaz Pirwani from Bazaar, Fatima Moin xBazaar, Saad Pasta from SadaPay, Waleed Arshad Google Developer Expert in Flutter and Ali Azaz Alam from VeeOne Health dedicated their three days for this event to provide the best advice to the participants on creating impactful solutions.
Lastly this was made all possible by Institute of Business Administration City Campus, Karachi being the Venue Partner, ByteCorp being the Platinum Sponsor, TPS being the Gold Sponsor, Sastaticket being the Silver Sponsor and Creative Chaos being Bronze Sponsor played a great role in organizing this successful event. Thanks to these sponsors that led the organising committee arrange Shark Tank IBA on the last day. Sharks were Umair Azfar Khan from IBA, Hufsa Munawar from Google, Adeel Rizvi from Creative Chaos, Fariha Farooqi from Bazaar and Saif Ali from Dastgyr were stupendous in judging the top 17 solutions pitching their projects in exchange of points.

Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) are community groups for college and university students interested in Google developer technologies. GDSC helps the student grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and build solutions for local businesses and their community.
