Mr Farooq Dadi while talking to PAKISTAN & GULF ECONOMIST gave his perspective about the efforts of the incumbent government for the economic growth and the banking sector of Pakistan. Following are the excerpts:
The Government of Pakistan has facilitated overseas Pakistani for easy remittances as a result Pakistan has received billions of USD as foreign exchange which is a great support to uplift our rickety economy. As a result money laundering has become very difficult from Pakistan though it has not completely vanished from Pakistan. It still exists but it’s not possible to eliminate completely till a few people are hanged to death like China.
Mera Ghar Housing Scheme is a great support to lower middle class income people who could never have thought of their own house. PM Imran Khan’s Government has introduced this dynamic scheme to facilitate low income earnings income in order to provide them their own house. These loans are with minimum interest rates with minimum documentation as a result those who are living in rental house can make their own house by paying the same rental amount as an installment to their loan. This housing scheme loans will benefit millions of Pakistani to have their own house.
The incumbent government has somewhat made it mandatory to use technology for transactions which would eventually help in eradicating corruption and documenting the economy. Use of technology in the banking services is the only way to ensure fair play. We lag behind in the use of technology vis-à-vis the rest of the world.
Getting personal loans in Pakistan has always been very difficult. However, Imran Khan’s Government has urged the banking sector to provide personal loans to every Pakistani who deserve and are eligible. This would culminate to economic activities and benefit the country.
We have seen remarkable results in terms of agricultural loans to our farmers. The farmers have made remarkable growth in their respective fields. Personal loans will help small entrepreneurs and the cottage industry. Micro financing and financial inclusion have been rather vital for the underprivileged strata of the society. This will be a great help and support to uplift Pakistani economy and to uplift the talents of the impoverished.
