Lenovo shows off the z5 pro slider smartphone
Chang Cheng, Lenovo’s VP has revealed the new Lenovo Z5 Pro at an event and also confirmed that the phone will debut as soon as next month. Lenovo Z5 Pro is the Chinese company’s upcoming flagship, expected to have a fully bezel-less display and a similar slide-out camera like Oppo’s Find X. Earlier, a leaked video surfaced on the web that showed Z5 Pro’s design, as well its sliding function. Lenovo, unlike Vivo and Oppo, went with a manual slider function just like slider phones from the past.

Oppo’s realme 2 and c1 are a direct challenge to Xiaomi
Oppo’s sub-brand Realme has officially launched its third smartphone called Realme 2 Pro, as well as another entry-level Realme C1. Realme is a budget-focused brand that competes with Xiaomi’s Redmi series, as well as other Mi Note phones. Realme 2 Pro is a midrange phone that is powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC. LG just added a new phone to its oddly named ‘ThinQ’ series, the V40 ThinQ has been made official. It’s a five-camera smartphone with a familiar triple-cam set up on the rear but two shooters on the front for selfies. This configuration was already in the rumors and some specifications of this LG phone were leaked ahead of its launch.

Twitter is asking users to help it ban ‘dehumanizing content’
Twitter recently started reaching out to its users for figuring out a way to remove ‘dehumanizing’ posts and comments that set the stage for violence in real life. The oculus quest is better than the rift and costs $399
Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg took to the stage at an event today and unveiled the company’s next VR headset, the Oculus Quest.It’s going to be the first high-end VR headset from the company with no wires, unlike the previous Oculus Rift, that promises a more immersive experience with its positional tracking. Facebook started working on a prototype around two years ago, codenamed Santa Cruz.

Elon Musk is in big trouble. Quite how big will depend on the outcome of a lawsuit filed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday. It accuses Mr Musk of securities fraud after tweeting that he had “funding secured” to take Tesla private, sending the stock price soaring. Mr Musk was lying about having that funding, the SEC said – although Mr Musk has called the lawsuit “unjustified”.

Linus Torvalds: ‘i’ll never be cuddly but i can be more polite’
Linux founder Linus Torvalds has told the BBC that he is seeking professional help to become more empathetic towards fellow developers, but admits he may have to “fake it until I make it”. Mr Torvalds stepped back from his role heading the organization, following accusations of bullying and rudeness. He admitted to bad behavior but added that the Linux community also has to look at the way it conducts itself.

Fortnite season 6 pets ‘could expand game’s audience’
The introduction of three pets to the Fortnite game are not an attempt to squeeze more cash out of players, says one expert. Instead IHS analyst Piers Harding-Rolls believes the goal is to attract more female youngsters to the title. Amazon to open ‘four-star’ store in new york
Online retailing giant Amazon is opening a store in New York that will only sell products that receive a high rating on its website. The store will sell toys, household goods and other items that have a rating of four stars or more online. Customers who visit the store will pay less if they have bought into Amazon’s Prime service.

Uber pays $148m over data breach cover-up:
Ride-hailing firm Uber is paying $148m (£113m) to settle legal action over a cyber-attack that exposed data from 57 million customers and drivers.The massive breach happened in 2016 but Uber sought to hide it from regulators. The company paid the hackers behind the intrusion $100,000 to delete the data they grabbed from Uber’s cloud servers.

Facebook has announced Oculus Quest, a virtual reality headset it hopes will rejuvenate the VR industry. Playstation backs down in fortnite cross-play row
Sony is to let gamers on PlayStation consoles play against those using rival devices, the company has announced. Many games already let those using a PC, Nintendo Switch or Xbox One play together online, but Sony had refused to take part. It had previously cited child protection as one of the reasons it blocked cross-play.

Tablet computer ‘kills child’ in car crash in Spain:
The death of a girl hit by a tablet computer in a car accident has raised concerns about the safety of using such devices in moving vehicles. The three-year-old was killed after her mother’s car collided with the back of a school bus in Spain on Monday. Local reports indicate the girl was strapped into an Isofix-anchored child seat but the impact caused the tablet to fly into her face.
