FDI in IT Sector Shows Declines by $4 Million in First 11 Months:
Information Technology sector fetched $25.5 million Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in July-May 2019 compared to $29.5 million in the corresponding period last fiscal year, depicting a decline of around $4 million. According to statistics released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), $25.5 million inflow and $5.5 million outflow was registered in the information technology sector during July-May (2018-19). The net FDI remained at $20 million during this period.

In November 2018, Xiaomi and Meitu decided to collaborate such that Xiaomi will produce Meitu branded smartphones and in return, Xiaomi will get to use Meitu’s camera patents, since the company is known for its selfie phones.

China loses ground in top supercomputer list:
China has fallen behind slightly in the list of the world’s top 500 supercomputers, which is published every six months.
The US maintained its position, holding first and second place with the two most powerful computers in the world. At number one is Summit, with peak processing power of 200 petaflops – 200 quadrillion calculations per second. The number of US supercomputers within the 500 has increased since November, from 109 to 116.

Unseen 9/11 photos bought at house clearance sale:
Archivists who bought a stash of CDs at a house clearance sale found 2,400 photos of Ground Zero in New York taken following the 9/11 attacks in 2001.
They appear to have been taken by an as yet unidentified construction worker who helped to clear up the wreckage of the World Trade Center towers and surrounding area.The CDs were in poor condition but the data was ultimately retrievable.
The digital albums include images of Ground Zero itself taken both at ground level and from above, construction staff at work and the damaged interiors of the blocks surrounding the towers.

Gambling ads that appeared on an app “appealing to under 18s” have been banned by the advertising watchdog. Samsung has advised owners of its latest TVs to run regular virus scans. A how-to video on the Samsung Support USA Twitter account demonstrates the more than a dozen remote-control button presses required to access the sub-menu needed to activate the check.
