Interview with Mr. Sajid Katiya, CEO Sacha’s Cakes
PAKISTAN & GULF ECONOMIST had a conversation with Mr. Sajid Katiya, CEO of Sacha’s Cakes. Following are the excerpts:
When you think of the best customized celebration cake shops, you simply cannot ignore Sacha’s Cakes. The cake place that has been whipping up some delicious and sweet cakes since 1976.
Sacha’s Cakes was started by a lady Ms. Anwara Sheikh in 1979 to fulfill the birthday wish of her little nephew. The founder decided to bake a black forest cake in the shape of a car, a wish as innocent and full of fun as her little nephew which was not available in Karachi.
She worked such wonders that soon, not only her nephew but her friends and relatives boasted about Sacha’s custom cake, wanting more, spreading her name, making requests, and placing orders. Thus, leading to Sacha’s Cakes journey.
Taking her business from her home to a shop, Sacha’s created signature Black Forest Cakes, customized according to her client’s wishes and within a few years, Sacha’s Cakes became the go-to place for all of Karachi.
With time she couldn’t continue the same passion due to her age and other issues with her family abroad. Therefore, she handed over the operations to her staff before moving abroad who couldn’t keep the quality and taste.
When she came back after a couple of years, she still had that passion but was very disappointed with the staff due to that she decided to bring Sacha’s back. For this, she discussed the issues with some of her friends. One of her friends agreed to take over the operations, rebranded and re-launched Sacha’s Cakes in 2019 under Jazba Food Services (Pvt) Limited under the leadership of Mr. Sajid Katiya currently the CEO of the company.
With this re-launch, Sacha’s Cakes aims to consolidate its taste, quality, affordability, service and technology and further its mission of giving taste with quality. Sacha’s Cakes is considered one of the best-customized cakes places in Karachi.
As promised in our re-launch we have introduced many services that no other places are offering which include online customized cake order booking through our Website, Facebook Page, Instagram Page and WhatsApp. Sacha’s Cake first time introduced the concept of cash on delivery in this business as well as delivering cakes in Air-Conditioned Vans with exceptional customer service. Sacha’s is the only cake place where the customers don’t have to come to the outlet for customized cake ordering.
