Pakistan: a story of courage and determination

Pakistan: a story of courage and determination

Pakistan is a country that stands as an example of determination and a story of heroism where people fought for what they considered to be right!

We have come a long way since 1947 when after decades of struggle and hardships we were able to achieve a piece of land called Pakistan — a country that is not only a miracle that it exists today. Pakistan has faced so many wars starting from Kashmir in 1948, 1965, and 1971 and limited war in 1999. The country has also fought a war for its Muslim brothers when USSR invaded Afghanistan and Pakistan helped the USA to liberate the country by providing its support in all aspects from manpower to logistics to hosting the largest refugee population in the world.

Pakistan has also been one of the front-runner countries in the war against terror and has not only suffered economic loss, but the loss of thousands of human lives, it lost its standing as a progressive state and has been wrongly labelled as a terrorist country.

Pakistan has not only faced external issues and problems by being diplomatically isolated or by being labelled. It has faced some severe internal issues like rising extremism, corruption, economic instability, political anarchy and so and so forth.

Pakistan has faced several environmental issues that are rising out of global warming and climate change, floods, extreme temperatures, and torrential rains have further added to the problems being faced by Pakistan.

Pakistan has been one of the fastest growing countries in the 1960s but as time progressed today Pakistan stands at a great disparity from not only the Western world but also from its regional counterparts. The Pakistan rupee has been devaluing constantly. Hence, bringing Pakistan to a point where importing commodities of everyday usage has become a challenge.

Understanding all the factors that come to play to determine that a country is prospering, progressing and developing and looking at all those indicators, we can fairly comment that Pakistan is not going to become a failed state but it’s already a failed state.

But at the same time, when you look at the other side of the story where people are passionate about what they do and how they do it when they want to rise above what is happening to them for the past many decades, people being politically aware and standing up for what they believe is right, a place where all is wrong but the determination to make all right.

We have some great examples of individual excellences that are taking Pakistan’s name forward, Pakistan stands far and ahead of many nations when it comes to charity and philanthropy, we see some light at the end of the tunnel. There is some hope and anticipation to look forward and be courageous that we will rise again and we will achieve the brilliance that we are supposed to.

Pakistan is just not a country with a land mass and population, it is a country with people who has some great national heroes, people who are patriotic, people who would in an instant lay down their life for their country, and people who are working hard to ensure that Pakistan becomes one of the leading economies of the world with strong political standing and best military capacity in the world. I will not hesitate to say “Pakistan is a story of courage and determination”.
