by Katharina Buchholz,

China is by far the biggest e-commerce market in the world as seen in figures from the Statista Digital Market Outlook. This year, e-commerce sales in the country are standing at $1.4 trillion. But the years of meteoric growth of the market are projected to be over. Until 2025, the Chinese e-commerce market is only expected to grow by 15 percent while remaining the largest in the world.

Revenues generated in China make up the majority of the Asian market. Yet, other markets on the continent and in the developing world in general are now growing much faster. Markets that are not China, the U.S. or Europe are expected to grow by 52 percent over the next three years

In Europe and the U.S., e-commerce is expected to grow by 47 percent to 50 percent over the given time frame, below the average for the rest of the world.
