In all countries and a major source of income, jobs and wealth creation, No doubt tourism is recognized as one of the chief key sectors of development in Pakistan. As it plays a wider role in enhancing the image and international perception of a country. Our country has identified sustainable tourism as a key driver of economic growth which is consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Presently it is said that Pakistan’s tourism sector registered huge growth under present time but the need for protecting the environment increased manifold in order to save nature. Moreover, Pakistan’s scenic destinations offered huge potential for tourism and also needed an accountable approach to preserve its natural beauty from the attempts of pollution, human footprint and rapid construction. It is emphasized using technology to raise tourism and training human resource to deal with the requirements of the tourism industry. Luckily, Pakistan is rich in its tourist destinations also for best sports offering a diverse range of choices for dissimilar sorts of tourists.

The country is famous for its exciting cities, historical sites, hospitality, great cuisines globally. However, most of the international states are not aware of the fact that it is an excellent destination to enjoy best sports also cultural festivities. It is also said that from fishing to river rafting, skiing to camping and jeep safari to mountaineering, the country is gifted with such vibrant geographical landscapes that makes it outstanding tourist destinations.

In the world, Pakistan is home to one of the oldest civilizations, has innumerable locations of scenic beauty, world‘s highest mountains, various religious and historic places, unique arts and crafts and a rich culture and heritage.

In 2018, the British Backpacker Society ranked Pakistan as the world’s top adventure travel destination, showing the country as one of the friendliest states on earth, with mountain scenery that is beyond anyone‘s wildest imagination. Pakistan is home to a number of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) world heritage sites like, Archaeological Ruins at Moenjodaro, Buddhist Ruins of Takht-i-Bahi and Neighbouring City Remains at Sahr-i-Bahlol, Fort and Shalamar Gardens in Lahore, Historical Monuments at Makli, Thatta, Rohtas Fort and Taxila. Phander Lake, located in Phander Village, is almost too good to be true.

The teal-coloured lake sits silently amongst light-green trees befitting a landscape painting. Despite being insanely beautiful, Phander Lake doesn’t see anywhere as close to the number of tourists as the more popular Attabad Lake does.

In the country no doubt, northern areas are called as hub of best sports and open to tourists and sportsman’s wonderful opportunities. Its rivers falling down from the snowcapped mountains and glaciers are great for water sports. Furthermore, there are various destinations that offer wonderful opportunities for jeep safaris in the area. Swat is being called as Switzerland of Pakistan and Malam Jabba is one of the best places in the country. The Passu Cathedral is a natural work of art and one of the most recognisable scenes in Pakistan. Though staying overnight in Passu village is no longer allowed, the cones are visible from a ways away, starting from the village of Gulmit. The most iconic view of the Cathedral is from the Karakoram Highway, about an hour’s drive from Gilgit City.

Mountaineers from all over the world continue to test their minds and bodies by ascending some of toughest terrains in the world. The season, which attracts mountain climbers from all parts of the world, creates a hoard of opportunities for mountaineering-related businesses in the country and helps Pakistan generate millions in lieu of taxes and fees every year. The life of common people is very tough in Northern areas of Pakistan because of extreme weather conditions mainly winter.

Pakistan has built various lodges along the whole routes, and has offered more services, this step has enticed more people to come. Visa process for foreigners to get tourist visas for Pakistan has been made very easy. Though it’s relatively unheard of and forgotten compared to Pakistan’s most famous tourist spots, Yarkhun Valley was the most beautiful place in the country. Located in the Upper Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Yarkhun dazzles with its mountain ranges and untouched villages. The side valley of Gazin is most definitely worth a detour if you make it all the way to Yarkhun. Here, you can see the mountains of the Thoi Pass, a high-altitude pass that connects Upper Chitral with Yasin Valley in Gilgit Baltistan.

Experts said that tourism sector could be developed through enhancing service delivery and relevant facilities. The country was a cradle of ancient civilizations besides homing sacred sites of various religions. The diversity of religious places offers immense potential for international tourism. Interest-free loans through banks to the local population could assist promote tourism. It is also said enhancing facilities and infrastructure related to the tourism sector would attract more tourists. The government of Pakistan is promoting tourism in the country to make the world know that Pakistan was scenic and a tourist-friendly country.
